The duo proudly represents the local darkstep scene by constantly throwing their 100% own made arsenal enriched by unique creative tendencies.
Can’t believe I’m writting this while listening to spheres music x chewing gum, but here’s this: its because I feel relaxed when I write about these folks, partly because it hits like the silence, calm before the STORM.
Oh I was kidding. Listening to The Ax its like watching a bunch of mechanisms weaving a masterplan. You just can’t let go without being prepared. You may slap your face in the mirrour, put on a vandal attitude and move your fists on the beat.
Yes, then you know the sound can take many shapes, as in these times we dont talk about just music, we talk about rich frequencies we develop along our own social body. And this is plain Sound, an entire digital orchestra.
They have released tunes already on labels like Counterstrike’s Algorythm, Gareth’s PRSPCT and Kano’s Sinuous.
Well Freqax will throw some freshies on the 6th edition too, stay focused!

Freqax is a music production project conceived in 2008 by ADRENALINA (aka C9H13NO3) and WEIRDO on the ground of their 2 different original styles mixed on the colaboration tunes that they made together, and their many b2b party sessions performed. It relies on a new form of music languages and genres under a single project based on the knowledge gathered over the many years of experience.
They both liked electronic music since they were kids, but the bigest inspiration in their music life was “The Prodigy”. They discovered “drum and bass” genere in the late 90’s and they started producing it in the early years of 2000’s. They made electronic music long time before they met, but when they placed their styles together it sounded like a close family of sounds and rythms banging your heads and pleasuring your ears like never before. They lived their youth in different places – Adrenalina in Sinaia (small City from Romanian Mountains) and Weirdo in Bucharest (Chapital of Romania) – so this is one of the basic motive why they have different perspective in alot of things, wich in this project is a good thing as it may seem from the result of the different vibes placed together in the tunes they made. These so called “Ax Brothers” met in 2006 when they joined Darkeast kru which gave them the chance to play together at many gigs alongside big dnb producers and dj’ like DYLAN, TECHNICAL ITCH, LIMEWAX, CURRENT VALUE, EWUN, EVOL INTENT, PANACEA, BSE, NOISIA and more. They made a few production colab’s before, but they decided to make them under a single name in 2008 because of the huge succes that they had together in Romania at Darkeast’s and DROPDREAD’s events.
In 2009 Freqax reveals itself along with its first signed release “The Ax” at Algorythm Recordings. The next big thing for them was their first 12″ vinyl release at Prospect Recordings in July 2010 which is out now and u can buy it to suport the band.   Nu-mi vine sa cred ca scriu despre asta ascultand muzica sferelor si mestecand guma, dar treaba sta cam asa: e pentru ca simt relaxare cand scriu despre cei doi baieti(Liviu si Adi aka C9H13NO3 si Weirdo), in primul rand pentru ca cei doi cand lovesc e ca linistea dinaintea FURTUNII.
  Bineinteles ca glumeam. Sa asculti The Axe ca si cum te-ai uita la o gramada de masinarii si mecanisme cum t[z]es un masterplan. Nu poti sa te dezlantui fara sa fii pregatit. N-ai decat sa-ti dai o palma in oglinda, sa-ti pui atitudinea de vandal si sa-ti misti pumnii pe beat. Un mod de-a spune.
  Da, asa afli ca sunetul poate lua multe forme, si asta pentru ca in timpurile actuale nu putem vorbi doar de MUZICA, ci avem in vedere o paleta bogata de frecvente pe care le dezvoltam odata cu corpul si natura noastra sociala. Si asta inseamna sunet, chiar o intreaga ochestra digitala de sunete.
  Au lansat deja la cateva case de discuri precum cea a lui Counterstrike – Algorythm, a lui Gareth – PRSPCT si a lui Kano – Sinuous.
