While the name Bert On Beats may not be immediately familiar, within a few months, everyone will be talking about the Estonian producer’s refreshing and deeply rhythmic assimilations of global bass music.
The latest signing to the prestigious Man Recordings, Bert Prikenfeld announced the arrival of his Bert On Beats moniker in 2010 with two hotly received singles for the Berlin-based label, ‘Suomo’ and ‘Alemão’, featuring Ghanian singer Anbuley and Sao Paulo MC Gi respectively.
The buzz generated by those two releases saw the likes of Sinden, Brodinski, Feadz, Foamo and Douster all supporting Bert’s trans-global, forward-thinking approach to bass music and set the scene for the arrival of the 13-track ‘Antenna Of Tallinn’ long-player in February 2011.
Continuing where ‘Suomo’ and ‘Alemão’ left off, ‘Antenna Of Tallinn’ is guaranteed to be one of the freshest, and most rhythmically interesting records you will hear all year. Fusing the rich legacy of UK bass genres like dubstep and funky with the complex beat alchemy of global genres such as Kuduro, Soca and Baile Funk, Bert’s hyper-hybrid sound has its trajectory set squarely at the future and beyond. Having already received five-star support from primary taste-makers such as Skream, Reso, Calvertron and Tomb Crew, ‘Antenna Of Tallinn’ is a project that demands your attention and announces the arrival of an exciting new talent.
You can already check out the 13-track monster debut album and buy it via Juno Download, here.
This was realeased through Juno one week earlier before it goes official everywhere else, and we’re lucky enough to get our hands on a free tune! Djs, lets start celebrating!

MORE ABOUT BERT ON BEATS:
In his hometown of Tallinn, Estonia, Bert Prikenfeld has been a household name since the mid-90s. Originally starting his career as DJ Critical, Bert established himself as Estonia’s leading hip-hop DJ, before moving on to D&B and releasing his first album in 1999 to critical acclaim in Estonia and Finland.
Prikenfeld continued to forge his production skills throughout the ‘00s, proceeding through early dubstep, Bmore and Baile Funk, and then the releases of Berlin DJ and Man Recordings head Daniel Haaksman. In 2009 Haaksman initiated a remix contest for his track ‘Kid Conga’, Prikenfeld entered under his new name Bert On Beats and promptly won both the competition and the ongoing attentions of Haaksman. Within a matter of months, Bert On Beats was the newest signing to Man Recordings and the rest is bass-music history.
