Kitech a.k.a Declan Knapp (b. 7th August 1989 in Chelmsford, UK) is a drum & bass DJ and producer pushing the sound of the tearout /darkstep sub-genre which is growing increasingly popular in the drum & bass scene.

He was signed to Simon Underground’s Amalgam Recorings in late 2008 and has since had two of his own 12″ releases on the label and a split with Throttler. After the release of ‘World Ends’ on Amalgam, Kitech was picked up by Freak Recordings in 2009 with Dylan showing interest in his work. He has had several releases on FreakMp3 and Obscene Recorings with more planned and is currently working on an album with Dylan which is almost completed. The album includes collaborations with artists such as hip-hop pioneers Zilla Rocca, Elucid & Curly Castro from Philadelphia, house producer Nigel Richards, George Noble formerly of Your Demise, Robyn Chaos & more.

Collaborations with Gein, Zeal & Litta, Nekrosis, Deceit, Robyn Chaos, Dylan & many more are also planned for the future.

Kitech has played at a number of events such as the world-renouned Therapy Sessions in Hungary, Vienna & London. He has also played at events around Europe and accross the UK with plenty more planned for 2011 and onwards.
